Unnerving Nightmare - Game Jam Release | v0.1.0

Hi everyone!

Unnerving Nightmare, a small horror-ish game, created for the Scream Jam 2024 game jam is now released! :)

For now it's only an alpha version of the game but I hope you all enjoy the game.

My personal thoughts:

I worked with one of my best friends, Akira0577, on this project which was a blast to do. We'll definitely be creating more games together in the future but for now we'll be taking a small break. I'll still be active working on the project fixing any bugs that are found (especially the WebGL version) to try and get it to be a bit more stable. Most of what we wanted to do we never got to fully implement but we hope to bring a 1.0.0 version in the near future.

As for Akira's thoughts:

Working with Merik was fun, actually writing for a game is like a dream and that was fun—making art was challenging but I look forward to improving on that. Honestly though i just had a whole lot of fun working with Merik and look forward to doing more ^^ I hope you all enjoy the game and if you have any feedback feel free to leave a comment!

The jam was very fun and exhausting for the both of us but we learned a lot which we'll bring to our next projects. Some future things we'd like to add are:

• Monster that is a threat to the player.
• Hide function to be able to evade the monster.
• Cutscenes for the endings.
• Inventory system for key items and more puzzles.
• Alt look for player character.

We had a lot of other ideas as well but the points above are some of the few that we'll be focusing on mostly. Thank you all again for playing and just checking out the page. I hope to see you all in the next devlog but until then stay safe and take care!
